Gregory J. Rys is a corporate coach and
consultant specializing in leadership
developmentand implementation of the executive’s strategic vision across the organizational chart. In addition to individual executive coaching, his specialty is propagating enthusiasm and understanding among middle management and directors regarding the implementation of the executive’s strategic plan. Greg is an expert at leveraging psychological principles of change and communication bridging leadership development and team building with organizational performance improvement and product quality and outcome.
Since 1983, he has been working in the complex and competitive Health Care Industry with additional experience with State and Federal organizations as well as the Public Utility Industry. He has an established community track record of innovative entrepreneurship and collaboration across healthcare and business boundaries. He has conducted integrative outcome research, program development and implementation.
When Dr. Rys worked for the Conemaugh Health System: one of the largest health systems in the Mid-Atlantic Region, he developed the region’s first medical psychology department; Conducted patient outcome research in the area of needs assessment and patient satisfaction while regularly conducts system wide training at all levels of management with an established history of executive, managerial coaching. Currently Dr. Rys founded Berkley Hills Medical Psychology of Richard Kastelic, MD & Associates. This is the areas first joint and integrated venture blending medical psychology within a family medicine practice.
Greg has national and international training regarding the cultural aspects of business and patient perception of healthcare. This included training in Kyoto Japan, Oaxaca Mexico and the mid-West Pueblo culture. Post-Doctoral training and seminars were obtained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Preventative Medicine Research Institute. Dr. Rys received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Union Institute and University of Cincinnati Ohio. His program and dissertation focused on the collaboration and integration of psychology within other medical settings. He was awarded the Aaron Wallace Memorial Scholarship for exemplary holistic health research.
Dr. Rys has a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Here is where Dr. Rys developed his Systems Theory approach toward business as well as client intervention techniques. At Indiana, his research thesis involved the development of an innovative training educational program for children promoting health skills. With a Bachelor Degree of Science in Psychology, Greg was rigorously trained in a scientist model of the biology, statistics and research model of Psychology.
He is a Board Member of the Pain Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. Past board member and current volunteer of the local American Cancer Society. He is also the Past President and member of the Laurel Mountain Psychological Association. Greg was a past member of the American Red Cross Disaster Team, serving with them during the 9/11 Disaster. He is also a past member of the Department of Homeland security with FEMA/DMORT.
